When you send a download request for the SAFE Toolbox, we ask you to fill in an electronic form and provide some personal information (“name & surname”, “email”, “institution”, “country”, “research area” and “role”).

We collect these data so that we can keep track of how much our Toolbox is of interest across research areas, countries, etc. This is important for us to get an idea of which research communities we have reached over time.

We may also use your contact details to send you email updates, for example on new releases of the Toolbox, however this will happen very occasionally and no more than twice per year. We will not contact you for other reasons or use your data for other purposes.

We do not share your data with third parties, and if we ever publish them it will be in an anonymised way. For example, we may write on our website or in a journal paper what is the total number of download requests we received over a certain period of time, and their partitioning across research areas, roles, etc. but we will not mention individual requests we received.

We will hold your data only for as long as it is needed for the purposes stated above, and anyway for no longer than 5 years since submission of the download request.

If for any reason you want us to remove your data from our records, please contact Francesca Pianosi (find link to contact details in our About us page). If you have any concerns about the use of your personal data please contact data-protection@bristol.ac.uk.
